Sena Cases

Sena Cases is an Orange County, California based company which designs and manufactures protective leather cases for mobile devices. Their cases are individually handcrafted from full-grain Napa Leather[1].

Sena Cases is well known mostly in the Palm (PDA) and Pocket PC PDA communities since they started their business by making cases for personal digital assistants. Initially, Sena made cases for only the once popular Sony Clie PDAs. Later the firm extended its line to PDA brands such as Palm (PDA), Ipaq, Dell Axim, and other brands. The firm's leather cases for PDAs became popular among many because most of their cases allow users to access the functions of devices without removing them from the case. These cases have very thin leather around the device charge ports which let PDAs be placed into the cradles with the case on, for syncing and charging. This makes such cases more practical in some ways for users, but may offer less protection around the charge/sync port[2]. Another feature of their cases is the magnets placed at the flip covers of the cases. This lets users open and close the flip lid with one hand[3]. Sena also used to offer acrylic shatter-proof mirrors [4] that fit into the mirror pocket of the flip covers for extra protection and vanity check. Sena has expanded its line from PDAs to all popular mobile devices with relatively large screen. With the increasing popularity of smartphones and MP3 players, Sena's line includes cases for devices such as BlackBerry, Treo, Motorola Q, and iPod.

After Apple released two popular handheld devices with large screens, iPhone and iPod touch, Sena became popular in the Apple community[5][6][7] with its iPhone cases and iPod Touch cases since these devices fall into Sena's specialty. Both Apple Store (retail) and Apple Store (online) added Sena line as a high-end alternative to current offerings[8].
